Flexi Rod Set Instructional

Hello lovelies. I thank you for visiting my blog and I hope you find this insert helpful as well as interesting. In this blog I will cover the steps I used to achieve my flexi rod set. You may alter things to your liking, but this is what I did for my hair.

  • Deep conditioned with heat for 20 minutes using the saran wrap method and left it in overnight.
  • The next day I shampooed with Cream of Nature detangling and conditioning shampoo.
  • Detangled in the shower with conditioner in my hair, under running water, in sections using a wide tooth comb.
  • Rinsed with cool water for my last rinse.
  • T shirt dried for about 10 minutes and then applied my Nearly Natural moisture mist.
  • Once my hair dried about 80% I oiled my scalp with JBCO and EVCO.
  • I parted my hair the way I wanted it prior to styling.
  • I used my fingers to make sections. I do not use a comb because it makes it harder to hide the parts.
  • With every section I applied my homemade whipped shea butter, nearly natural flexible styling cream, nearly natural silk ‘n shine and then detangled with a wide tooth comb.
  • I then wrapped my hair around the flexi rod and then continued to roll toward the back.
  • I used four purple flexi rod in the back, one purple rod on the top center, and two blue rods on both sides of my head.
  • I put on my satin bonnet and continued to air dry overnight.
  • The following day I took the flexi rods out and sprayed the Nearly Natural natural sheen and began to separate each section.
  • I separated and styled as desired and applied a little more natural sheen to add shine.

I hope this was helpful and that it cleared up anything that was unclear in the video. I will wear my hair in this style for about a week. Make sure you leave any questions below. I will be doing a review on the both silk ‘n shine and the natural sheen.
